About

Chips and Salsa Designs is a boutique party design brand bringing you fresh party ideas and products, so you can focus on what’s important, your people. With coordinating invitations, party decor and stationery, the time it took to race to the store for that last pack of matching party plates, can now be spent sipping a glass of wine, helping your little blow out her candles or enjoying a longer, meaningful conversation with a friend.

MEET ABIGAIL – Owner, Designer

In 2015, my husband and I packed up our lives and moved from Texas to Iowa, not knowing a single soul. A month later, I gave birth to a baby girl and so started my journey to make this life of ours one of meaning and connection in our new community. We hosted at least 50+ people in our home that first year, many of which were overnight guests. With the arrival of each friend or family member, I found myself loving the challenge of making them feel welcome, warm and invited into our home, but I was a mess. I tried to do it all, and all perfectly, with a newborn. In effort to save my sanity, I started creating ideas and ways to be hospitable without overextending myself; buying pre-made, simplifying meals, and adjusting my expectations. After years of working with the best of the best wedding planners and brides, I am thrilled to expand my designing to all types celebrations and share what I’ve learned about how to create a life of less prep and more party!

Party Good I Can’t Live Without – give me all the festive napkins
My Daughter’s First Birthday Party Theme – sprinkles, sprinkles, sprinkles!
Favorite #partyhack – use wrapping paper as a coordinating table runner

WHAT’S WITH THE NAME?

Although commonly thought to be named for the beloved Texas delicacy (hey, Texans take our Tex-Mex seriously), Chips and Salsa was actually named after two birds who were bright, full of life, and for pets, were a bit unexpected. Just like the birds, we hope to deliver a service full of personality, surprise and lots of smiles.
